As difficult as this may be for some to read, and as heart wrenching as the pictures are, this should be reuqired reading in any high school or college curriculum. The question one asks at the start is why, and this book gives a window into how and why such depravity can occur.

Anyone who cares about the TRUTH of history must read this book as it is source of the research that woke up the world to HOLOCAUST the Nazis perpetrated upon the world! Do you dare read the TRUTH or are you one of those you sticks their heads in the sand? Decide what you are; a seeker of Truth or a denier thereof!

Nice book, promised conditions. The only problem is that it is not the complete edition —as announced—, so you must take that in account.

This was an extremely critical read into how the Germans treated the Jewish population during WWII. A must read for any student or scholar. Having read other books on the general topic, this was the best book I have read to date on the scope of atrocities against the Jewish population.

Hilberg was the first and is still the best. Everybody else is derivative. Raul Hilberg might be dead, but he left us this as a monument to who yet reads.

I purchased this book in May, 2011.This book answers any question you could ever have about WWII and the Holocaust. From the organizational charts to the narrative and the footnotes, everything is cleanly laid out and explored.Kershaw, Gellately, Wyman, Friedlander and Browning are excellent resources. Hilberg is an amazingly complete and fantastic resource.My only suggestion is to read both volumes of Victor Klemperer's, I Will Bear Witness, (sorry, the review doesn't allow for underlining), while you are reading Hilberg's Volumes I and II. It's a great way to see the day-to-day real time results of what Hilberg discusses in both volumes.Uno problemo: The last 27 pages of my Volume II are missing. Twenty-seven pages in Hilberg-land can contain an encyclopedic amount of information. I may never know the exact details and processes of how what finally happened to the Hungarian Jews (the end of Hilberg's semicircular arc) finally happened to them.Yale U. Press is investigating whether this is just a problem with my Volume II, or a problem with the whole run.

Very comprehensive, some parts are very interesting whereas others are hard to really understand. A very "academical" book - consequently a bit "dry". But for my personal research a big part of the content will become very useful.

This book provided strong background knowledge about learner language. I bought it after getting it from the library and realizing it was an essential resource to have for this topic (I wanted to annotate it too much to merely use a library copy).

Tom Zeiler is a Professor of History and International Affairs, and former chair, at the University of Colorado at Boulder where he also directs the Global Studies Residential Academic Program. He serves as the executive editor of Diplomatic History and as the editor-in-chief of American Foreign Relations Since 1600: A Guide to the Literature, as well as on SHAFR's Teaching Committee and governing Council. About the Author
Until October 2012 Tommaso Sgobba has been responsible for flight safety at the European Space Agency (ESA), including human-rated systems, spacecraft re-entries, space debris, use of nuclear power sources, and planetary protection. He joined the European Space Agency in 1989, after 13 years in the aeronautical industry. Initially he supported the developments of the Ariane 5 launcher, several earth observation and meteorological satellites, and the early phase of the Hermes spaceplane. Later he became product assurance and safety manager for all European manned missions on Shuttle, MIR station, and for the European research facilities for the International Space Station. He chaired for 10 years the ESA ISS Payload Safety Review Panel, He was also instrumental in setting up the ESA Re-entry Safety Review Panel.

Tommaso Sgobba holds an M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin (Italy), where he was also professor of space system safety (1999-2001). He has published several articles and papers on space safety, and co-edited the text book “Safety Design for Space Systems”, published in 2009 by Elsevier, that was also published later in Chinese. He co-edited the book entitled “The Need for an Integrated Regulatory Regime for Aviation and Space”, published by Springer in 2011. He is member of the editorial board of the Space Safety Magazine.

Tommaso Sgobba received the NASA recognition for outstanding contribution to the International Space Station in 2004, and the prestigious NASA Space Flight Awareness (SFA) Award in 2007.

I bought a 3d printer for product prototyping, so of course, I had to climb the learning curve of some 3D design package. I tried TinkerCad (too limited), Fusion360 (overkill, and unnecessarily complex) and Sketchup. Of the three, Sketchup had a good balance of capabilities and decent user interface, but it's very quirky -- you don't always get the same result from the same actions. So then I saw the 3d printed digital sundial, which is a devilishly intricate piece of design, and it had been done with OpenSCAD. I decided to try it. The use of textual description provides an absolute control over placement and dimensions that just doesn't come easily with any mouse-oriented tool. And editing is wonderful! I had designed a panel with 21 insert holes all the same size, but on printout, they turned out to be about 0.1 mm small. All I had to change was the value of a "holeSize" constant, and the edit was done. 5 seconds?So if you have any skill at 3D visualization, this is the way to go. It is vastly more efficient than dragging a mouse around, and hoping all the joints are mated, and that the dimensions are right.

OpenSCAD seems to generate perfect .stl files everytime! Al's book along with the Wikipedia manual got me producing 3d printer ready files after months of struggling with Sketchup, blender and FreeCad. I fabbed my first successful print at Shapeways and can't wait until my printer arrives.Creating items of known size is much easier for me with Python script programming than drawing and scaling. If you want to create real-world items where dimensions are important I highly recommend this book and OpenSCAD.

I was hoping for a handy reference and perhaps some information besides what is in the online manual, however this book is pretty elementary. I wish there was a book covering 3d_ooml and giving good examples.

Nice, concise introduction of the current capabilities of OpenSCAD. Making objects customizable is really the way to go, so I wish there had been lots more examples of choosing the right constant definitions to do that. In fact, I wish there were lots more examples of more complicated objects with line by line explanations of the code. Can't have too many examples. I hope the author will consider more examples as well as later editions as the language expands and develops.

An excellent document to OpenSCAD. I use OpenSCAD for 3D printing and CNC milling. Even though I had used the software frequently before reading this book, it contained some excellent insight on some areas that I was struggling. The coverage on "children" alone, for me, was worth the cost.

I think this is a very solid book. It dishes up useful information in an easy to digest manner. You can probably dig through help online or whatever to find it yourself, but this is a cheap, fast, easy way to come up to speed on OpenScad.I borrowed the book on my Kindle with my Amazon Prime membership and decided to buy the book after reading it. I found myself referring to the book when creating models, so I had no problem buying it.

We fail to interpret the tone of his voice. We fail to read his body language. And the result is that we fail to take good notes.
